  1. WOW good stuff man keep it up! when are you next gong hunting?Merry ChristmasOliver

  2. Thanks! I can’t wait to go back out there with a full tank to see what it will really do. I will be going with Eric Henderson on the pig hunt in 3 weeks. wish you could come along, would love to have you there. Ill take the 909 and my DAQ.

  3. Great job!! I also have a 909 and 9mm 707. and luv em. hoping to get a DAQ someday. sure would enjoy video of ya shooting your DAQ. and again nice video to opening up some eyes to Big bore airguning. Thanks, Tim Fort Myers, FL

  4. Thanks Tim, have you been hunting with your 909 are 9mm 707 yet? I have a fire 201 but i have been looking at the career ultra. How do yours shoot? What kind of fpe are you getting? just thought i’ll ask. If everything goes right. Next week, I’ll take the monster ( the DAQ i got from Eric Henderson) and the 909 back out to the range and see what we can get out of them as far as accuracy and power.

  5. Well I’ll tell you bro, thats one crazy looking hat!!! But results look good. Merry Christmas to you. Have fun with Eric on the hog hunt, too expensive for me to go this year. But good news is I’ll be gettin my DAQ .25 carbine soon! Can’t wait. Good on ya, and best of luck

  6. Just bought 9mm 707 have been shooting it but not hunting with it yet. 707 don’t seem to group as well as my 909, but just bought some round balls to try. I have taken 1 hog with 909 at about 40 yards with 190 gr buffalo pistol bullet .457 dia. (can’t seem to find these anymore). just bought some 454. and 457. lead last night at bass pro and plan to try them out. also if you come across a DAQ .308 or larger let me know as I would love to have one. Thanks, Tim

  7. Like your site good work Like to get more info. on the 201 Career have one and like to pump it up

  8. Yeah, iI know, My hats or crazy. Let me know  when you get your DAQ carbine. I know you’re going to love it. I will make sure i take alot of pics of the hunt and do a write up of what happened  out there ,so you will have a chance to come along too. Hey, maybe you can come on the hunt in April of 2007.

  9. As you know,The fire 201 is an awesome. I think it’s one of the best kept secrets in airguns. One thing you need to know about them from the start. Some of them don’t shoot as hard as some of the others. I have two and one shoots a 95 grain bullet at 186 fpe! and the other one , 104 fpe. The good news is if you get one that does’nt shoot as hard as you want you can send it to LeRoy and he can have you in the 200 fpe range. Do you have a pump now?  What happen when you try to puimp it up?   If the air is coming out of the barrel when you pump, put the rifle on safe and cock the gun and try to pump it up that way. Just let me know how it turn out.

  10. Let me know how the round balls work in your 9mm. I have been looking at the career ultra for a while. I think the 454 round balls will work very well in your 909. That’s what iI used for the test of my 909. If i come across a DAQ, I will let you know. I run across them from time to time.

  11. Hi, Sniper99! I just spoke with Leroy. When you get your Sumatra back will you let me know what chrony/FPE numbers are? I have a Sumatra 2500 Carbine (.22) and am anxious to get some more POWER.Great Shooting!Jay

  12. Hi Jay,I gave my Sumatra to a young adult who was very interested in air guns and had no way to buy one. God moved me to give him mine. I do have a Career 707 that I will give to Leroy to work on. Leroy is very busy with production of his own gun. He may not have time to work on mine right way. I will keep you posted. Thanks for reading and commenting.Sniper99

  13. I have a few airguns but the only serios is fargo shot gun and a model 48.What I am interested in is long range 75-100 target shooting with big bore rifles. I really like your websight.

  14. Sniper99. Have you found your Career Ultra? I got mine from warranty repair (aircylinder was leaking when it first came) and did few shots. I used Eun Jin 77gr pellets and H&N .354 round balls.
Round ball seems to be much better than that Eun Jin pellet… even though it looks like .354 is loose. Maybe .360 or .362 would be better. Anyway i havent tested much but first round ball through chrony set 958fps and its dropping pretty fast.

  15. Yes!, and I love it! glad to hear that you got it back and that everything is fine. You’re right, for some reason, the round balls work very well in mine too. that .354 ball is loose in the barrel, try .356. they will cycle through the mag and will give a little better fps. if you have a hard time finding .356. try using 000 buck shot. they are veryaccurate in my rifle.
The Eun jin pellets don’t work that well in mine.so, I don’t use them.

  16. Hey Russell, sorry I hav’nt contacted you. If you can get your hands on a Quackenbush 308 that would be the one you want for long range. If you can use a 115 grain bullet too. If you can’t get a hold of a Quackenbush, then ,get a 909 or a fire 201 and learn to shot it. One time, I shot my fire 201 for over a month and I was able to hit jackrabbits 75-85 yards all the time. I even shot one at 108 yards with it.

  17. sniper99,i just got my career201 but had to send it back because it leaked air.i shot it only a couple times but i was experimenting and released all the air out of the chamber.now that i have tried to pump it up it leaks because i found out from a technician at pyramyd air you should always keep some air in the chamber.i really like the gun and would like to get a pretty good scope but really don’t want to spend a fortune, got any ideas on a scope? should i get a low profile type scope?

  18. Hello, what has changed rifle to give so much speed. Spring and hammer?. What is the pressure load for shooting at those speeds.

    Thank you

  19. Well, the hammer and the spring are two of the areas, but, you will have to go inside the valve and open up the exhaust opening and maybe take of a coil from the valve return spring as well. You know, these rifles are powerful. You can do just some of this and the power will go way up. Good luck.

  20. sniper99, first off I’d like to say THANKS for putting all this work into this site. I perosnally know what it takes to run one.

I just bought a 909 45 today. I have been talking to a few of you like Dennis and Leroy which helped with the decision. Both nice guys and very helpful! My decision to buy the 909 was 2 fold. I couldn’t buy Dennis’s right now or Leroy’s but I’m going to get one when I get the chance. I have been a shooter throughout my life. Hunted since I was 5 years old. Equally firearms and airguns. I was lucky in that my father was ok with me hanging guns on my wall when I was 13 years old. It inculded a .410 single shot, 12 gauge double barrel that my Grandma bought for me, 22 repeater, 308 Grand (grad present for junior high) LOL and my trusty 22 cal Crossman pellet gun that I could shoot anywhere. I killed more animals with that then I did with all the rest. 100’s of rabbits, 1,000’s of Birds and what ever crawled. I hope God has a good since of humor because back then I didn’t eat any of it except some deer and quail. I find myself wanting to hunt again and have had smaller pellet guns like Beeman’s R1, C1, P1 pistol and even a RWS that had some pretty good power to it. NOW I’ve just learned about the BIG BOY Airugns and I want in. I hope to send a few hundred rounds through her and send it off to Leroy and get her souped up. You guys have taught me alot and a big Thanks to you again for great site.

I hope to give some results soon. Here is a link that I found that gives great ballist’s on firearm rounds. It makes me want to make one like he did for the 909 and others.

  21. Recieved the new 909 couple days ago and I’m very pleased with it. I keep looking at the pellets that I will be shooting. Being a machinist makes me want to play and do some tests with different shapes. I’m chomping at the bit wanting to shoot it. I did fire one shot out back on lower power but MAN was it loud. Made me go back into the house real quick. I’ll be doing some shooting soon and post up some results from a stock gun and then I’m sending it out to Leroy to tune her up right!

  22. Took the 909 out shooting and what a blast! Shot out to 100 yards in groups of 5 inches and the error was more me then anything else. 50 yards 2 inch groups were common. Here are a couple videos of test shots. The first one is 2 x 10 pine boards and the secound is a bottle that was powdered.

Next step is to send it out to Leroy and get her tuned up.:)

  23. Sniper99 – What modification did LeRoy make on the 909S.
